Islamabad, Mar 12 2025: Oil & Gas Development Company (OGDC) (PSX: OGDC) has successfully reinstated production at Rajian-11, a heavy oil well.
By deploying an Electrical Submersible Pump (ESP), the company announced in a notice to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX).
This initiative is part of OGDCL’s broader plan to enhance oil production by leveraging advanced artificial lift technologies.
The company emphasized that employing modern extraction techniques aligns with its long-term strategy to optimize hydrocarbon recovery.
The Rajian-11 well, reaching a depth of 3,774 meters, had remained inactive since 2020 due to formation-related challenges.

However, Oil & Gas Development Company (OGDC) successfully revived operations by installing an ESP across the Tobra, Jutana, and Sakesar formations, restoring oil production to 1,000 barrels per day (BPD).
Situated in District Chakwal, the Rajian Oil Field is wholly owned and operated by Oil & Gas Development Company (OGDC) under the Gujar Khan Exploration License (E.L.).
Discovered in August 1994, the field remains a crucial asset in the company’s energy portfolio.
This milestone reaffirms OGDCL’s dedication to enhancing operational efficiency and maximizing domestic hydrocarbon output, strengthening its standing as a key player in Pakistan’s energy sector.
