Islamabad, Nov 9: On Iqbal Day Gillani Calls on Nation to Reaffirm Commitment to Iqbal’s Teachings for a Prosperous Pakistan. Acting President Syed Yousuf Raza Gillani called on the nation to reaffirm its dedication to the teachings of Allama Iqbal, the ideological founder of Pakistan, and to strive for the unity, peace, and prosperity of the country.
In a message commemorating the Birth Anniversary of Dr. Allama Muhammad Iqbal on November 9th, the Acting President emphasized the importance of embodying Iqbal’s principles while making continuous efforts to create a better future for Pakistan.
“Today, we honor the contributions and legacy of Dr. Allama Muhammad Iqbal, our national poet, whose vision and ideas ignited the spirit of independence among the Muslims of the Subcontinent. As a philosopher of the East, Iqbal’s thoughts were instrumental in the establishment of an independent nation,” Gillani remarked.
Dr. Iqbal’s efforts united the Muslims of the Subcontinent, and his ideas inspired them to fight for their own country, he noted. Iqbal advocated for the rights and political representation of Muslims in British India, laying the foundation for creating a separate homeland for them. His message underscored the importance of Islamic values, promoting spiritual and cultural revival, which has contributed to shaping Pakistan’s identity. His vision continues to resonate with the youth, guiding them to uphold the values of Pakistan and work towards progress, he added.
“Iqbal’s poetry and philosophy serve as a testament to his intellectual greatness and spiritual profundity. Through his masterpieces such as Asrar-e-Khudi (Secrets of the Self), Rumuz-e-Bekhudi (Mysteries of Selflessness), and Bang-e-Dara (The Call of the Marching Bell), he delved into themes of identity, spirituality, and the quest for freedom. His words endure, inspiring generations globally with a compelling combination of philosophical insight and poetic elegance,” concluded the Acting President.
