Islamabad, July 31, 2025: Internet users in Pakistan are facing widespread connectivity problems as several major Internet Service Providers (ISPs) struggle with service slowdowns and outages. The internet issues in Pakistan have sparked frustration among users, with disruptions affecting browsing, emails, and access to essential digital tools.
Multiple Sources Behind the Connectivity Crisis
The connectivity problems are not due to a single failure but rather a combination of technical glitches affecting both local and international traffic. Nayatel, a prominent ISP, confirmed that its upstream provider is facing routing issues, causing eastbound traffic delays. This has resulted in inconsistent speeds and frequent disconnections for users trying to access international websites.
Meanwhile, other ISPs such as PTCL have acknowledged similar disruptions, pointing to a broader national issue. The situation is not limited to individual users; even businesses are reporting difficulties in accessing cloud-based platforms and communication tools.
Microsoft and Cloudflare Services Also Hit
Adding to the disruption, several major online platforms have been affected by independent outages:
- Microsoft Outlook, Teams, and OneDrive have gone down for many users across Pakistan, disrupting professional workflows and communication.
- Services relying on Cloudflare’s infrastructure are either performing slowly or are completely inaccessible, impacting websites and applications hosted through the popular CDN.
These parallel problems, though unrelated in origin, are amplifying the impact on users across the country. The overlap has made diagnosing and resolving the disruptions more complex for technical teams.
No ETA on Resolution Yet
Despite active efforts by ISP technical support teams, no official recovery timeline has been provided. Users are advised to stay updated through their ISP’s official channels and avoid resetting devices repeatedly, as these disruptions stem from backend infrastructure issues rather than local equipment faults.

What Should Users Do?
While the technical teams continue their investigations, users can take the following steps to manage the situation:
- Use mobile data temporarily if home broadband is down.
- Avoid opening multiple applications at once to reduce bandwidth usage.
- Follow updates from service providers on social media and websites.
