Islamabad, Sep 9: The ministry of Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development (OP&HD) associated department, the Overseas Pakistanis Foundation (OPF), offered a free ambulance service to transfer the remains of Overseas Pakistanis from Pakistan’s international airports to their hometowns.
According to an official source who spoke with APP, the employer or business where an employee works typically has a contractual duty to convey the deceased body of an overseas Pakistani national. In the event that the employer declines to cover the expense of moving a deceased employee and the family’s financial situation is precarious, the burden of moving the body falls to the concerned Pakistan Mission overseas.
As a result of OPF’s efforts, PIA transports dead Overseas Pakistani citizens’ bodies from its operating location at no cost. He further stated that the legal heirs may appoint an executor to represent a person of their trust in that nation in the transportation of a dead body instance.
The attorneys obtain a NOC from the Consulate or Embassy and emphasize that OPF requires the following details for the transportation of deceased bodies: flight number, date and time of departure, arrival time, contact number of the person in Pakistan liaising with OPF officials, full address of the deceased’s hometown, and OPF contact number UAN-111-040-040.
According to him, the goal of OPF is to guarantee the well-being of Pakistanis living abroad and their families, as well as to facilitate their methodical rehabilitation upon their return by creating enough resources and collaborating with relevant parties.
