Islamabad, Sep 21: The Alkhidmat Foundation recently held its annual convention for the Academic Scholarship Program at its central office, attended by distinguished figures including Syed Waqas Jafri, Secretary General and Chairman of the Alkhidmat Education Program, along with several vice presidents and educational leaders.
The event featured the distribution of scholarships to top-performing students, with new scholarship recipients receiving certificates.
Ali Arsalan, the program manager, facilitated the proceedings, which concluded with an oath taken by students pledging to contribute to their education and the development of the country.
Syed Waqas Jafri emphasized that the Alkhidmat Scholarship Initiative provides financial assistance to deserving students without discrimination based on color, race, religion, or political affiliation.
The selection process is strictly merit-based, targeting students who face financial hardships to help them pursue higher education. Currently, the program supports 1,174 students across Pakistan, including Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.
To date, 5,411 talented students have received scholarships amounting to PKR 536.1 million, resulting in impressive achievements: 651 doctors, 715 engineers, 1,194 BS Honors/Master’s graduates, 260 Associate Engineers, 530 graduates, and 2,061 intermediate students have successfully completed their education.
Dr. Mushtaq Ahmad Mangat highlighted the need for understanding issues and transitioning to awareness, enabling individuals to use their resources for the benefit of others.
He praised Alkhidmat volunteers for their essential role in completing multi-billion-rupee projects.
Vice President Ihsanullah Waqas stressed the importance of mutual support, ensuring help is readily available. National Director of Education Dr. Ahmad Jibran noted that the program not only offers financial support but also monitors student performance, providing guidance and organizing career counseling seminars.
Dr. Qudsia Shameem from CMH Lahore expressed her gratitude, stating that the Alkhidmat Foundation has been a guiding force in her life, contributing to her success and the achievement of 31 gold medals.
