Islamabad, 10 June 2025: The Eid holidays brought a massive influx of domestic tourists to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s hill stations and scenic valleys, with over 652,000 visitors exploring the province’s popular destinations over just three days.

Officials revealed that the surge in footfall was driven by improved weather, better road access, and extended holiday breaks, making KP a top choice for Eid holidays travellers looking to escape the urban heat and enjoy the cool northern landscapes.

Among the most visited areas, Galiyat remained the top pick, drawing in 177,000 tourists. Known for its pine-covered hills and family-friendly resorts, the region saw bumper crowds throughout the Eid holidays.

The breathtaking valleys of Naran and Kaghan followed closely, welcoming 168,000 visitors eager to take in the region’s rivers, meadows, and snow-capped peaks.

Meanwhile, the ski town of Malam Jabba, now a year-round attraction, hosted around 160,000 holidaymakers, thanks to its lush green slopes and adventure activities.

Even the relatively quieter and remote Upper Dir witnessed an impressive turnout of 85,000 tourists, underscoring a broader trend of increasing footfall in lesser-known destinations during festive breaks.

While the rush brought economic benefits to local businesses and hospitality providers, it also raised concerns about infrastructure pressure and environmental impact.
