The University of Oxford has agreed to grant scholarships to students from Balochistan through the Benazir Scholarship Program. This agreement was formalized between Oxford University and the Balochistan government, with Chief Minister Mir Sarfaraz Bugti and Malala Yousafzai, the global ambassador for girls’ education, present at the signing ceremony. Under this initiative, talented students from Balochistan will receive full scholarships to pursue higher education at Oxford University, recognized as one of the world’s most esteemed institutions, according to a statement from the press secretary to the chief minister of Balochistan.
The program aims to facilitate access to high-quality education and empower the youth of Balochistan. Chief Minister Mir Sarfaraz Bugti emphasized the significance of education in unleashing the potential of youth, expressing pride in providing students with the opportunity to study at Oxford University, a revered institution where leaders like Benazir Bhutto have studied. He underscored the commitment of the government to offering the best educational opportunities to the youth. Chief Minister Bugti also lauded the achievement as another milestone of the incumbent PPP government, which is dedicated to progress under the leadership of Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.
