Islamabad, July 24, 2025: Pakistan is trying again to lock in a trade agreement with the United States. Several top-level officials are in Washington to move forward with Pak-US trade talks on the long-stuck deal, according to Bloomberg.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has reached the US. Though he’s mainly attending a United Nations Security Council event, meetings with US officials are also lined up. US State Department’s Tammy Bruce said she’ll be part of these discussions.
At the same time, Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb also visited Washington. He already met with US Secretary of Commerce Howard Lutnick and US Trade Representative Jamieson Greer to press ahead with the trade talks.

As part of the offer, Pakistan is ready to increase imports of US cotton and soybeans. The aim is to build stronger trade ties. It’s worth noting that the US is still Pakistan’s biggest export market.
This trade push is happening as both countries try to improve ties. Recent top-level meetings show the relationship may be warming again.
