Islamabad, Jan 28: According to a recent ranking by GlobalFirepower.com, Pakistan’s air force has secured an impressive seventh position among the world’s most powerful air forces.
This ranking is determined by evaluating various factors such as the number and type of aircraft, including fighter jets, helicopters, and support planes. With a fleet of 1,434 aircraft, Pakistan’s air force plays a crucial role in ensuring regional security and maintaining strategic dominance in South Asia.
The United States leads the list with the largest and most advanced air force, comprising a total of 5,737 helicopters, 1,854 fighter jets, and 3,722 support aircraft, all backed by a robust defense budget of $800 billion annually.
Following the U.S., Russia and China are ranked second and third, respectively. Despite facing significant setbacks during the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, Russia remains a dominant force with substantial air capabilities.

Meanwhile, China has been rapidly modernizing its air force, incorporating cutting-edge technologies, including sixth-generation fighter jets and supersonic aircraft, positioning itself as a major power in global aviation.
India, with 2,296 aircraft, occupies the fourth spot, while South Korea and Japan are ranked fifth and sixth, respectively. This further underscores Pakistan’s strategic importance in the region, as it continues to modernize its fleet and enhance its air power despite regional challenges.
Pakistan’s air force remains a key player in the geopolitical landscape of South Asia, highlighting its preparedness and strategic capability to safeguard national interests and maintain peace and stability in the region. Other nations such as Egypt, Turkey, and France also feature in the top ten, solidifying their air power influence on the global stage.
