Islamabad, June 23, 2025: – The Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA) announced on Monday that it has extended the airspace ban for Indian airlines until July 23, 2025. This decision continues a measure initially imposed as a retaliation for what Pakistan termed “aggressive measures” from New Delhi.
The ban specifically targets all Indian-owned or Indian-operated passenger and military aircraft, prohibiting them from using Pakistan’s airspace.
A revised Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) issued by the PAA confirmed the extension, stating the closure would remain in effect for another month.
The ongoing airspace restrictions stem from heightened tensions between the nuclear-armed neighbours last month.

New Delhi had accused Islamabad of orchestrating a deadly attack in occupied Kashmir’s Pahalgam. It is an accusation Pakistan strongly denied, calling for a neutral probe.
The situation quickly escalated into a military confrontation, requiring American intervention to broker a ceasefire.
Pakistan had initially closed its airspace to all Indian flights on April 24 as a direct response to India’s actions.
While Pakistan had briefly reopened its airspace for all flights on May 10 after the ceasefire was announced, the ban specifically targeting Indian carriers has now been further prolonged.
