Islamabad|: Pakistan and Russia affirmed their commitment to deepen and broaden bilateral relations through regular meetings of institutional mechanisms and follow-up actions. This consensus was reached during discussions between Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, held on the sidelines of the SCO Council of Foreign Ministers meeting in Astana, Kazakhstan.
The talks centered on the increasing understanding and cooperation between the two nations, as well as recent regional and global developments. Both parties agreed to convene the ninth session of the Intergovernmental Commission in Moscow later this year.
Ishaq Dar extended congratulations to the Russian Foreign Minister on the peaceful and successful election process in Russia, expressing contentment with the positive trajectory of Pakistan-Russia relations.
