Pakistan and Turkey have renewed their commitment to strengthen their long-standing strategic partnership and enhance bilateral defense and security collaboration in a high-level conference held in Rawalpindi. Chairman Joint Chiefs of staff Committee General Sahir Shamshad Mirza discussed with the Turkish Air force commander General Ziya Cemal Kadioglu.

Both groups held intensive negotiations on professional military issues based on the evolving world and regional geo-strategic environment. They shared strategic priorities and the need to work together to preserve peace, stability, and security in the region.

General Kadioglu praised the professionalism of the Pakistan Armed Forces, their sacrifices in the fight against terrorism, and how they continue to contribute to the stability of the region. The Turkish commander had also appreciated the high standards of operation and dedication of the military personnel of Pakistan.

When General Kadioglu arrived at the Joint Staff Headquarters earlier, he was given a Guard of Honour by a well-trained tri-services team, a sign of the close ceremonial and strategic relationship between the two countries.

Having common interests and enhanced military relations, both nations are becoming one of the most significant providers of peace in an unstable international context.
