The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced the national squad for the upcoming white-ball series against New Zealand, set to begin later this month. The series will feature five T20 Internationals (T20Is) from March 16 to March 26, followed by three One Day Internationals (ODIs) from March 29 to April 5.

Salman Ali Agha has been appointed as Pakistan’s T20I captain, with Shadab Khan as his deputy. Mohammad Rizwan will continue to lead the ODI side, while Salman will serve as vice-captain in the 50-over format.

The appointments of Agha and Shadab in leadership roles align with Pakistan’s preparations for two major upcoming tournaments: the ACC Men’s T20 Asia Cup 2025 and the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026. Salman, who led Pakistan to a 2-1 victory against Zimbabwe last year, will be tasked with shaping the team’s future.

Pakistan has a packed T20I calendar leading up to the World Cup, including series against West Indies, Afghanistan, Ireland, South Africa, Sri Lanka, and Australia. Meanwhile, Rizwan’s ODI leadership aims to build a strong squad for the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2027.

Aqib Javed will continue as the interim head coach for the New Zealand series, while Mohammad Yousuf has been appointed as the batting coach.
