Islamabad, 14 June 2025: UN After Israeli Attacks, Pakistan has voiced deep concern over recent Israeli airstrikes targeting Iranian territory, terming them unlawful and provocative actions that breach international norms.
Speaking at the United Nations Security Council’s session on Iran, Pakistan’s permanent envoy, Ambassador Asim Iftikhar Ahmad, delivered a firm national stance, expressing unwavering solidarity with Tehran.
Without naming specific incidents, the ambassador conveyed Pakistan’s regret over the loss of civilian lives and property damage resulting from what he described as unprovoked military actions.

Islamabad extended heartfelt condolences to the people of Iran, referring to them as a “brotherly nation,” and emphasized the need for respect toward national sovereignty.
These military operations, carried out by Israel, were characterized as clear violations of international legal principles and the UN Charter, particularly the sovereign rights and territorial integrity of a fellow UN member state. Pakistan stressed that such conduct escalates instability across the broader Middle East and carries dangerous global ramifications.
“Such deliberate escalations not only endanger regional peace but also undermine the framework of multilateral diplomacy,” the ambassador noted during the briefing.
He underscored Iran’s inherent right to self-defence, as recognized under Article 51 of the UN Charter, in response to these acts of aggression.
Reaffirming its longstanding diplomatic position, Pakistan reiterated that enduring peace can only be achieved through dialogue and adherence to international law not through force or unilateral actions.
