The Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal (PBM) has introduced a biometric verification system to ensure transparent and efficient delivery of financial aid to needy citizens across the country.
The initiative, launched in partnership with Mobilink Microfinance Bank Ltd. (MMBL), marks a major step in digitalizing Pakistan’s welfare operations.
Under this new system, PBM beneficiaries will receive payments through biometric verification, eliminating fake claims and ensuring that assistance reaches the right people. The system will also help speed up the payment process and improve accountability.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, PBM Managing Director Senator Capt. Shaheen Khalid Butt said the new system will support widows, persons with disabilities, orphans, and women enrolled in training centers. He added that the move supports the federal government’s goal of promoting digital transformation and transparency under the “Uraan Pakistan Plan.”
CEO JazzCash Murtaza Ali said the partnership would bring secure and transparent financial solutions to underprivileged communities and help build trust in digital welfare systems.
