Islamabad – 09 May, 2025: The upcoming T20I series between Pakistan and Bangladesh is facing possible delays due to a mix of rising regional tensions and changes to the Pakistan Super League (PSL) schedule.
Bangladesh were initially set to arrive in Pakistan on 21 May in two separate contingents, with the five-match T20I series scheduled to begin on 25 May in Faisalabad.
However, recent developments have cast doubt over the tour’s timely execution.
The rescheduling of the PSL — now relocated to the UAE — is believed to be a key factor impacting the Bangladesh tour.

The final, originally planned for 18 May, is expected to be pushed back, potentially creating logistical complications for hosting the Bangladesh side.
According to sources, the delay in PSL fixtures could extend preparations for the T20Is by up to a week.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), which had earlier expressed satisfaction with the arrangements for the Bangladesh tour, is now reassessing the situation.
Security concerns have also emerged as a factor, with some Bangladeshi players reportedly voicing hesitation about travelling to Pakistan amid the current geopolitical climate.

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) is said to be monitoring the situation closely and has been in touch with the PCB to evaluate all available options.
Despite the uncertainty, both boards remain committed to honouring the series, which forms part of the ICC’s Future Tours Programme (FTP).
Efforts are ongoing to find a window that would accommodate both the PSL conclusion and the Bangladesh tour without compromising safety or preparation time.
Bangladesh had already announced a squad for the busy T20 calendar, which includes matches against both the UAE and Pakistan.
However, the current scenario may require adjustments in plans, depending on how quickly the situation stabilises.
