Islamabad, Aug 14, 2025: Pakistan is celebrating 78th Independence Day 2025 with great pride and a promise to follow the vision of the Pakistan Movement. The day started with a 31-gun salute in Islamabad and 21-gun salutes in other provincial capitals. People offered special prayers in mosques for peace, prosperity, and unity across the country.
The main flag-hoisting ceremony took place at the Pakistan Monument in Islamabad. Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif raised the national flag. Homes, buildings, and vehicles are decorated with flags, lights and buntings as people show their love for the country.
President Asif Zardari said this day is a time for pride and hope. He praised the nation’s unity and strength, especially after Pakistan’s recent success in the Marka-e-Haq operation against India. He said this achievement has increased trust in Pakistan’s institutions and improved its image worldwide.
