Islamabad, Feb 5; Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and China’s Vice Minister of Public Security, Qi Yanjun, held an extensive meeting on Wednesday to enhance collaboration between the Islamabad and Beijing police forces.
The two-hour discussion centered on bolstering security ties, with a strong emphasis on modern law enforcement techniques and paramilitary support. Officials revealed that key topics included border security enhancements, intelligence-sharing mechanisms, and the integration of advanced technology in policing.

Both nations acknowledged the critical role of technological advancements in crime prevention and counterterrorism efforts. Pakistan expressed keen interest in acquiring state-of-the-art police equipment from China to elevate its law enforcement capabilities. Minister Naqvi emphasized the government’s commitment to modernizing the police force, ensuring better operational efficiency.
Discussions also covered the ongoing cooperation between Pakistan’s National Police Academy and Chinese law enforcement institutions. Both sides expressed satisfaction with the outcomes of the Joint Working Group’s previous session in January, underscoring the importance of continued training programs and knowledge exchange.
Reaffirming Pakistan’s dedication to strengthening bilateral security ties, Naqvi formally invited Qi Yanjun to visit Pakistan, marking another step toward deepening strategic cooperation in law enforcement.
