Islamabad, Aug 15, 2025: On Independence Day on August 14, 2025, President Asif Ali Zardari conferred Pakistan Civil Awards to 263 persons, which included nationals of Pakistan and foreigners, with their significant contribution in diverse sectors.
These awards will be given officially at the Investiture Ceremony on Pakistan Day, March 23, 2026. The beneficiaries cut across different fields such as science, education, literary, sports, journalism, social welfare, and philanthropy.
Among famous recipients of the award are Dr. Syed Habibullah Shah and Prof. Dr. Rafia Mumtaz in the field of science, Dr. Amir Muhammad and Prof. Dr. Ikram ul Haq in education and Mr. Shahid Khan Afridi and Ms. Sana Mir in sports. Mr. Ihtasham ul Haq and Mr. Sarmad Ali were recognised in the field of journalism. There were some recognitions in social welfare and philanthropy such as Mr. Muhammad Yaseen Khan and Mr. Muhammad Abdul Karim Saqib.

The awards also recognize foreign nationals in the services they rendered to Pakistan. An example is the Saudi Prince Khalid Al-Faisal bin Abdul Aziz Al-Saud, who was made a Hilal-i-Pakistan, and Li Hongzhong, Liu JianChao and Wang Yongge getting the Hilal-i-Quaid-i-Azam.
The awards of this year point to the stance of the nation to honour excellence and international goodwill. The present that is to be held on March 23, 2026, will be evidence of glorious achievements of these people.
