Islamabad, May 7, 2025: In a dramatic development along the Line of Control (LoC) in Kashmir, Pakistan has alleged that Indian troops raised a white flag, signaling what it describes as a retreat or act of surrender at a forward military post.
The claim, made public via the Pakistani government’s official account on social platform X, has stirred strong political and military chatter across the region.
Pakistani Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Attaullah Tarar, further amplified the statement by writing on X, “First they fled from the investigation, now they fled from the field,” suggesting that Indian forces are on the back foot both diplomatically and militarily.
While India has yet to respond officially, and international outlets like Al Jazeera note that the claim remains unverified, the assertion marks a sharp escalation in the ongoing narrative war between the two nuclear-armed neighbors.
Such use of a white flag by Indian troops, if confirmed, would be highly symbolic and rare in South Asian military standoffs.
Experts in regional security caution against jumping to conclusions. “Without third-party verification, such claims must be treated with scrutiny.
However, even the allegation alone intensifies the psychological aspect of the India-Pakistan rivalry,” said Brig. (Retd) Anwar Hussain, a military analyst based in Islamabad.
Historically, the LoC has seen frequent exchanges of fire, surveillance operations, and strategic maneuvers.
A white flag, traditionally associated with a ceasefire or surrender, adds a new twist to the already tense border dynamic.

Comparatively, past military engagements in Siachen and Kargil did not involve such symbolic gestures from either side, making this claim particularly noteworthy.
The development is likely to fuel debate across diplomatic circles and regional newsrooms.
It also raises questions about the state of ground-level morale and command coordination along one of the most volatile borders in the world.
