Islamabad 25 July: Pakistan condemns Israel’s West Bank sovereignty claim says a statement issued by the Foreign Office spokesperson Shafqat Ali Khan.

Pakistan strongly denounced the Israeli parliament’s recent move to assert “sovereignty” over the Occupied West Bank, labeling it a serious breach of international law and a reflection of Israel’s ongoing disregard for Palestinian rights.

In a statement issued on Friday, Foreign Office spokesperson Shafqat Ali Khan described the action as a “deliberate provocation” aimed at undermining peace efforts and solidifying Israel’s unlawful occupation.

“These unilateral steps are a dangerous escalation, threatening regional stability and the prospects for a fair resolution,” Khan said, noting that such actions violate United Nations Security Council resolutions and international humanitarian law.

He urged the global community to act swiftly to hold Israel accountable, emphasizing that these measures will not change the internationally recognized status of the Occupied Palestinian Territory.

Pakistan reaffirmed its steadfast support for the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination. Khan stated, “We remain committed to advocating for an independent Palestinian state based on pre-1967 borders, with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital, in line with UN resolutions.”
