Islamabad, Mar 12 2025: Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs, Muhammad Junaid Anwar Chaudhry, engaged in a high-level discussion with Denmark Ambassador to Pakistan. Jacob Linulf, to evaluate the progress of Danish investments in Pakistan’s maritime industry and identify new areas for cooperation.
The meeting revolved around the execution of a $2 billion investment plan, outlined in a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed last year between Pakistan and Denmark.
According to an official statement issued on Wednesday, the initiative is set to transform Pakistan’s maritime infrastructure, boost port efficiency, and encourage sustainable development in shipping and logistics.
During the dialogue, the minister stressed the strategic importance of this collaboration, underlining how Denmark’s expertise in maritime technology can enhance Pakistan’s economic progress and global trade competitiveness.
Both sides explored prospective investments in green shipping, renewable energy solutions for ports, and capacity-building programs aimed at strengthening Pakistan’s maritime workforce.

In addition to economic cooperation, discussions extended to cultural exchanges and tourism promotion between the two nations. Recognizing the rich cultural heritage of both countries, the dignitaries deliberated on enhancing people-to-people connections.
They highlighted Pakistan’s scenic northern regions, ancient Indus Valley Civilization landmarks, and Denmark’s iconic Viking heritage and castles, acknowledging the tourism potential of both destinations.
Ambassador Jacob Linulf reaffirmed Denmark’s keen interest in expanding its role in Pakistan’s maritime industry and reiterated his country’s commitment to fostering sustainable and innovative maritime solutions.
Minister Junaid Anwar Chaudhry welcomed this enthusiasm and assured full government support in facilitating Danish investments.
The meeting concluded on a promising note, with both parties agreeing to expedite the MoU’s implementation and actively pursue new opportunities in trade, investment, and cultural collaboration.
