Islamabad, Oct 27: Pakistan e-Passport fee update for October 2024
As part of a significant upgrade, Pakistan has begun issuing its citizens e-passports, a very secure travel document.
An electronic chip implanted in one of the passport pages of the e-passport is used to store the holder’s biometric data.
The chip holds information, including the passport holder’s fingerprints, that will be used to confirm their identity.
Fee structure
The cost of e-passports in Pakistan has been established as of October 2024. A 36-page passport with a five-year validity period costs Rs9,000 for regular processing and Rs15,000 for expedited issue. A 36-page passport with a 10-year validity period normally costs Rs13,500, but urgent processing costs Rs22,500.
The usual rate for a 72-page passport with a five-year validity is Rs16,500, and there is an urgent processing fee of Rs27,000. Applicants must pay Rs24,750 for standard processing and Rs40,500 for urgent processing for a 72-page passport with a 10-year validity.
Benefits of Pakistan e-Passport
Pakistani passport holders will now have access to e-gate facilities internationally, which will speed up border procedures and streamline online applications, as more than 150 nations use e-passports.
The secure passport improves travel convenience and offers benefits to Pakistanis living abroad, enhancing Pakistan’s reputation as a travel destination worldwide.
