Islamabad, 24 May 2025: In a move aimed at safeguarding the interests of overseas job seekers, the Pakistan Embassy in Abu Dhabi has issued a strong warning to its nationals regarding the rise in fraudulent employment offers circulating online. This official advisory comes in the wake of numerous cases involving Pakistani individuals who have suffered legal and financial losses after being misled by fake job postings.
Caution Urged Over Online Job Offers
According to the embassy’s statement, Pakistani citizens planning to work in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) should exercise extreme caution when dealing with internet-based job advertisements, particularly those originating from sources outside the UAE.
Authorities reported a worrying increase in scams targeting foreign workers under the guise of legitimate employment opportunities.
Importance of Authenticity and Verification
The advisory highlighted that applicants must verify the legitimacy of any job offer before taking further steps. Job seekers were urged to authenticate employment letters using official channels such as the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MOHRE) portal, which allows confirmation through job offer reference or transaction numbers.
