Islamabad, Mar 15 2025: Pakistan has taken a significant step toward modernizing its passport issuance system with the arrival of advanced High-Speed Printers, two e-passport printers and six desktop printers from Germany.
These high-tech machines, now in Karachi, are set to boost efficiency and streamline the advanced High-Speed Printers passport processing workflow. A foreign technical team has also arrived in Pakistan to oversee the installation and calibration of these cutting-edge devices.
Qazi emphasized that these state-of-the-art e-passport printers are capable of printing 1,000 passports per hour, significantly accelerating the process. Once operational, they will enhance service delivery, ensuring faster processing times for applicants.

He reiterated Pakistan’s dedication to providing world-class passport services to both domestic and international applicants. That upgrade doubled the Passport Department’s daily processing capacity from 20,000 to 40,000 passports.
With the addition of these new machines, the department aims to further reduce processing delays, benefiting thousands of Pakistani travelers and expatriates.
