The Pakistan government has extended the national cervical cancer vaccination campaign after provinces reported low vaccination turnout. Punjab, Sindh, Azad Kashmir, and Islamabad will continue their HPV drives, with Sindh already extending the campaign to September 30.
Islamabad, Punjab, and Azad Kashmir are expected to extend for three to seven more days.
The campaign, launched on September 15, targets over 11.7 million girls aged 9–14 with a single-dose HPV vaccine. So far, over three million vaccine refusals have been reported: Punjab (2,195,793), Sindh (659,997), Azad Kashmir (127,229), and Islamabad (58,456).

Authorities aim to achieve the vaccination target of 11,729,787 girls, ensuring protection against cervical cancer. The HPV vaccination campaign extension is a crucial step toward safeguarding women’s health across Pakistan.
