Islamabad, Apr 27, 2025: The Ministry of Religious Affairs has confirmed that preparations for the 2025 Hajj operation are complete, with the first group is set to leave for Saudi Arabia on 29 April.

Officials said that all facilities under the “Road to Makkah” project had been arranged at Islamabad International Airport to ease the travel process for pilgrims.

Chief Operating Officer and Airport Manager, Aftab Gilani, mentioned that seven special immigration counters had been installed at the airport to speed up immigration procedures.

Mr Gilani also shared that a 45-member Saudi immigration team had arrived in Islamabad to help manage the Hajj operations. These activities will begin officially in both Islamabad and Karachi on 29 April.

The Ministry of Religious Affairs reported that around 50,500 Pakistani pilgrims would benefit from the “Road to Makkah” programme this year.

Among them, about 29,000 are expected to travel from Islamabad International Airport.

Highlighting further details, Mr Gilani said that nearly 100 flights would take off from Islamabad while 80 flights would operate from Karachi.

Under the “Road to Makkah” project, pilgrims will complete their immigration checks in Pakistan before boarding, allowing them to skip immigration queues upon arrival in Saudi Arabia.

The initiative is designed to make the journey smoother and quicker for Pakistani pilgrims by handling key formalities in their home country.
