ISLAMABAD, AUGUST 12: Zabe Khan, the former chief executive officer of Global Soccer Ventures, has withdrawn from the Pakistan Football League and said that he has no affiliation with the league.
“I would like to clarify that I have no affiliation with the Pakistan Football League (PFL),” Zabe Khan tweeted.
I work for the company, yet I am not one of its shareholders. Furthermore, I am no longer affiliated with Global Soccer Ventures (GSV). Two teams have reportedly withdrawn from the Pakistan Football League, which GSV launched and was scheduled to begin play on November 10.
According to sources, those two teams are Quetta and Islamabad, who were among the six original teams that were supposed to compete in the Pakistan Football League’s first season.
PFL UK Holdings is in charge of organizing the eight-team league; its chairman, English businessman Farhan Junejo, is originally from Pakistan.
At the league’s inaugural announcement on June 4, 2024, Zalmi FC, Lahore FC, Sialkot FC, Faisalabad Lions FC, and Lyari Tigers FC were among the five teams that were revealed.
Three sporting directors have reportedly left from their respective PFL teams, and the league’s organizers have collected money from PFL franchise owners without answering any of their inquiries since the league’s founding.
The PFL Chairman has remained completely silent thus far, leaving the franchise owners in the dark and the league’s future in grave danger.
