Islamabad, May 31, 2025: A 4.2 magnitude earthquake hit Pakistan on Friday, May 30, making it the ninth earthquake this month. According to Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) reports, the the quake struck at a depth of 180 kilometres.
Its geographical coordinates were noted as latitude 32.57° North and longitude 69.82° East.
On May 29, Thursday, an earthquake of magnitude 4.4 on Richter scale struck Pakistan at 3:37 PM PST, with its epicentre located approximately 60 kilometres southeast of Zhob. As per the NCS, the earthquake occurred at a depth of 10km, making it susceptible to aftershocks.

In addition, Pakistan has experienced multiple significant tremors earlier this month, including a 4.2-magnitude tremor on May 27 at a depth of 111 km, and two consecutive earthquakes on 10 May measuring 5.7 and 4.0 in magnitude respectively.
