Islamabad, Sep 13: Inaugurating the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Business and Investment Conference on Thursday at an Islamabad local hotel was Federal Minister of Commerce Jam Kamal Khan.
Senior ministers, senior government officials, foreign diplomats, representatives from SCO member states, and prominent figures from Pakistan’s business community attended the high-profile event, which highlighted Pakistan’s dedication to promoting trade and economic cooperation in the region, according to a press release released here.
In his address, Jam Kamal Khan expressed gratitude to the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) for arranging the conference and wished the honored guests a warm reception.
In addition to stressing the value of interpersonal communication in promoting economic relations among SCO member states, Jam added that these countries’ shared history and culture provide a solid basis for future cooperation.
Khan emphasized the complex interrelationships among the SCO nations, citing issues of shared economic hardship, ideology, and location.In addition, he gave Belarus, the newest member of the SCO, a hearty welcome and expressed hope for its active participation in SCO-related activities.
Considering the worldwide shift of economic activities towards Asia, Jam Kamal Khan advised enterprises in the SCO region to diversify and take advantage of new chances in his remarks.
He emphasized the significance of fostering goodwill and connectedness outside the SCO area and promoted constructive relationships with Asian neighbors in order to establish a “win-win support system.”
The minister also emphasized how important the private sector is to advancing economic growth, saying that “the strength of business institutions largely determines how resources are distributed, technologies advance, and global trade is carried out.”
He reaffirmed that investor trust is essential for promoting economic progress and informed attendees that Pakistan offers a favorable investment environment that is reinforced by proactive government initiatives.
Khan emphasized Pakistan’s market potential by stating that the nation is home to over 240 million resilient people, the majority of whom are youthful and creative.
Jam Kamal Khan was upbeat about Pakistan’s economic prospects, pointing out that investor confidence has increased as a result of the government’s initiatives to address current issues. Delegates had the opportunity to investigate investment prospects in Pakistan and the larger SCO region thanks to the conference.
