ISLAMABAD, AUGUST 2: Pakistan’s incredible run at the Asian U-18 Volleyball Championship continued unharmed as they defeated Chinese Taipei 3-1 in the super-8 round.
With set scores of 25-20, 24-26, 25-18, and 25-23, Pakistan won the Tehran match, greatly increasing their prospects of making it to the semi-finals.
Throughout the game, the Pakistani squad displayed incredible talent and tenacity. They got off to a quick start, winning the opening set 25–20 thanks to a barrage of strong spikes and well-timed blocks.
Even after a fiercely contested second set in which Chinese Taipei prevailed 26–24, Pakistan recovered with newfound strength.
Pakistan demonstrated their better tactical play and coordination in a commanding 25-18 victory in the third set, further demonstrating their superiority. The fourth set featured tense point exchanges between the two sides. Pakistan, however, maintained composure and won the match 25–23 in the end.
Pakistan has made great progress toward the semi-finals with their victory. Head coach Nadeem Ahmed emphasized the need of keeping momentum while complimenting the players’ commitment and attitude.
“The lads have demonstrated incredible dedication and aptitude. We have faith in ourselves, but we also need to remain focused on the tasks at hand,” he said.
