Pakistan is set to make history with its first-ever nationwide cervical cancer vaccination campaign, starting September 15 and continuing until September 27, sources confirmed.

The drive will roll out across Punjab, Sindh, Azad Kashmir, and Islamabad, targeting girls aged 9 to 14 years enrolled in both public and private schools. Registration for the campaign is already underway, according to health officials.

As part of the initiative, voice messages will be sent to parents to raise awareness about the safety and benefits of the HPV vaccine, which significantly reduces the risk of cervical cancer.

The vaccination campaign will be carried out through fixed vaccination centers, community health facilities, and mobile units, ensuring broad coverage. Additionally, health teams will visit schools directly to administer the vaccine to eligible girls.

Each participant will receive one dose of the HPV vaccine, a step that experts say can protect future generations from a life-threatening but preventable disease.
