Pakistan recorded extra monsoon rain, while the Met Office warns that pre-winter showers and snowfall are expected to fall short.

Director of the Pakistan Meteorological Department, Abdul Aziz, has said that during this year’s monsoon season, the country recorded 23% more rainfall than normal.

According to him, pre-winter rains are expected to remain below normal due to rapidly shifting weather patterns. He added that the early part of winter will see less rainfall, while heavier rains are likely toward the end of the season.

Abdul Aziz also warned that, similar to last year, snowfall during winter may remain below normal. If snowfall decreases, it could affect next year’s monsoon, potentially leading to more intense rains.
