Islamabad, 28 May 2025: Youm-e-Takbir marks the day Pakistan became a nuclear power, and on its anniversary, leaders across the nation paid tribute to the courage and determination that made it possible.
President Asif Ali Zardari congratulated the country, calling the occasion a proud reminder of Pakistan’s strategic strength.
He reflected on how the nuclear achievement was not just a technological success, but a decisive step to secure the country’s independence.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif noted that Youm-e-Takbir symbolises 27 years of nuclear deterrence and national dignity.

He credited former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif for responding to India’s provocations with a bold yet measured decision that secured Pakistan’s sovereignty.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi emphasized that May 28, 1998, was the day Pakistan sent a clear message to the world: its defense could not be compromised.
He described Youm-e-Takbir as a chapter of national pride, forged through sacrifice, unity, and unwavering determination.

As leaders across provinces joined in commemoration, Youm-e-Takbir stood as a powerful reminder that Pakistan’s nuclear capability continues to protect its peace and uphold its independence.
Multiple other leaders shared wishes for Pakistan and prayed for the success and stability of the country, including Chief Ministers Maryam Nawaz and Murad Ali Shah, JI chief Hafiz Naeem, Punjab Senior Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi.
