Islamabad, Aug 6, 2025: Pakistan is planning to launch a dedicated Pakistan Mart in Dubai to boost its export “global footprint,” according to a report by state-run Radio Pakistan on Wednesday. The initiative is aimed at strengthening trade links and creating new markets for Pakistani products especially in regions where demand continues to grow.

Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates enjoy deep-rooted political, business and cultural relations. The UAE is one of Pakistan’s top commercial allies in the Gulf and is a significant contributor to remittances, thanks to the large Pakistani workforce settled in the region.

During a press briefing, Commerce Minister Jam Kamal Khan termed the project a “game changer for Pakistani trade boost.” He said the Pakistan Mart in Dubai would provide a platform for Pakistani businesses to sell their goods internationally without facing unnecessary trade obstacles.

This new venture is being managed jointly by Pakistan’s National Logistics Corporation and DP World, a leading logistics company based in the UAE.

Export figures climbed 1.87% to $2.121 billion in FY25 from $2.082 billion last year. In FY24, exports had already increased by 41.15%, largely driven by higher demand in Dubai.

Meanwhile, imports from the UAE jumped 25.75% to $7.958 billion in FY25. Consequently, Pakistan’s overall trade imbalance with the Gulf region widened by 7.37%, mainly due to rising oil imports.
