Islamabad, Feb 26 2025: Pakistan captain, Mohammad Rizwan, and pace bowler, Shaheen Shah Afridi, have suffered significant drops in the latest ICC ODI Rankings released on Wednesday.
Pakistan entered the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 as defending champions but were eliminated in the group stage following defeats to New Zealand and India.
The right-arm fast bowler managed just two wickets in as many matches, with a disappointing average of 71 and an economy rate of 7.88.
As a result, he dropped five places to ninth in the Rankings. Fellow pacer, Haris Rauf, also fell six spots to 22nd after taking two wickets at an average of 67.50.
On the other hand, Naseem Shah moved up two places to 42nd, while spinner, Abrar Ahmed, climbed 26 places to 49th, both having taken two wickets in the event.
In the ICC ODI Batting Rankings, Mohammad Rizwan slipped four places to 20th after scoring just 49 runs across two innings at a strike rate of 53.84.
Meanwhile, former captain, Babar Azam, retained his second spot with 770 rating points, having scored 87 runs in two matches.
Indian star batter, Virat Kohli, re-entered the top five after his 51st ODI century in the Champions Trophy clash against Pakistan.
With Kohli in fifth place, India now has three batters in the top five, alongside Shubman Gill on the first spot and captain Rohit Sharma on the third.
