Islamabad, Sep 30: Pakistan Railways 50% Concession for Disabled Persons
Pakistan Railways is now offering a 50% discount on rail fares for people with disabilities traveling on all express and passenger trains, according to an official from the railway department on Monday.
The discount will be available upon presenting a Computerized National Identity Card with a disability logo. Additionally, a 50% concession is also being extended to attendants accompanying visually impaired passengers.
However, on September 23, the Ministry of Railways increased ticket prices by up to 50% for the general public.

Reports indicate that the fare hike, ranging from 10 to 50% for economy class passengers, has financially burdened citizens.
The fare increase affects trains operating from Karachi to Hyderabad, Tando Adam, Tando Jam, and Kotri, as well as routes from Lahore to Sialkot, Narowal, Narang Mandi, and Faisalabad to Rawalpindi.
Economy class fares for short-distance travel up to 250 km have also seen a 10 to 20% increase.
According to an official of Railways Ministry, the concession will be granted upon producing Computerized National Identity Card bearing disability logo.
He said that a 50 percent discount has also been offered to the attendant accompanying visually impaired persons.
