Islamabad, Nov 21: Pakistan Railways CEO Aamir Ali Baloch addressed the public during an e-Kachehri session, explaining that train delays are primarily caused by smog and adverse weather conditions. He assured that Pakistan Railways continues operations even when airports and motorways are closed, prioritizing passenger safety over punctuality.
Baloch mentioned that he is personally overseeing train schedules and working to resolve the issues causing delays. Efforts are being made to minimize disruptions and enhance services.
To improve passenger convenience, Baloch announced that the names and phone numbers of train managers will soon be displayed on all trains. Additionally, plans are underway to introduce two to three upgraded trains and launch a new train with fewer stops.
The CEO emphasized that providing excellent facilities to passengers is a top priority for Pakistan Railways and that all available resources are being utilized to meet passenger needs effectively.
Baloch also shared updates on regional connectivity projects worth billions of dollars and highlighted the fast progress of the Thar Coal Project.
The e-Kachehri session attracted over 26,000 participants and garnered approximately 7,300 comments, indicating strong public engagement.
