Islamabad, June 17, 2025: Pakistan Railways has initiated a large-scale ticket-checking operation in the Multan Division, targeting passengers traveling without valid tickets.
In a surprise move aimed at curbing financial losses, Pakistan Railways, under the leadership of CEO Aamir Ali Baloch, launched a massive operation against fare evasion. This action comes after numerous public complaints regarding ticketless travel on several trains. A dedicated inspection team from the Railways Headquarters, led by Chief Commercial Manager (CCM) Ali Rizwan Rizvi and Deputy CCM Kamran Saeed, carried out random inspections aboard multiple trains operating in the Multan region.
The campaign yielded immediate results—154 passengers were caught traveling without tickets. Pakistan Railways recovered a total of Rs 252,760 in combined fare charges and penalties, which has already been deposited into the national exchequer.
CEO Aamir Baloch stated that this anti-ticketless drive is not a one-time event but part of an ongoing strategy to strengthen financial discipline within the department. He affirmed that such operations will be expanded and intensified to eliminate loss-making loopholes.
