Pakistan Railways has officially launched a new railcar between Lahore and Rawalpindi, marking another step in improving train travel for passengers on this busy route.
According to railway officials, the new railcar has been specially refurbished to handle challenging routes. The coaches now include better seating, food and beverage options, first aid kits and upgraded cleaning services for passengers convenience.
Speaking at the event, CEO Aamir Ali Baloch said that Pakistan Railways is working to upgrade more trains with similar modern facilities. He added that from food services to hygiene and medical care, every effort is being made to ensure passengers have a pleasant experience.
He further stated that train travel remains one of the most affordable and safe transport options in the country. “Our main goal is to make sure every passenger reaches their destination safely and on time,” he said.

Baloch also mentioned that locomotive and track maintenance work is underway and international funding is being used for the upgradation of railway tracks. These improvements will help increase train speed and enhance overall service quality in the future.
