The Ministry of Information on Friday dismissed claims by Indian news channel Republic TV that Pakistan is preparing to send 20,000 troops to Gaza and has removed the “Not valid for Israel” clause from its passports.

Republic TV had alleged that the troops would be deployed “under the supervision of Western countries and Israel” and suggested the passport change had taken place.

The Information Ministry, citing a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, called the report “unverified and politically charged,” reaffirming that Pakistan does not recognize Israel and has no military cooperation or engagement under discussion.

The ministry also clarified that the passport clause remains unchanged.

“Directorate General of Immigration and Passports confirms it still reads ‘valid for all countries except Israel,’” the statement said.

The ministry highlighted that Pakistan’s stance, as reiterated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, is that the country does not recognize Israel and continues to support the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, including the creation of an independent and sovereign Palestinian state based on pre-1967 borders, with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital.

“The claim comes solely from Republic TV, which is known for sensationalised anti-Pakistan reporting,” the statement added. “No other international or regional media outlet has echoed this assertion.”

The ministry further urged the public to rely on official statements and verified policy updates and to avoid unverified or politically charged claims from partisan media.
