Islamabad, June 27, 2025: Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have reaffirmed their commitment to advancing bilateral cooperation in technology, artificial intelligence (AI), and digital infrastructure.

Federal IT Minister Shaza Fatima Khawaja met with Saudi Minister for Communications and IT, Eng. Abdullah Al-Swaha, in a high-level meeting focused on strategic tech collaboration. The dialogue centered on launching the Pakistan Digital Corridor connecting China and Central Asia, aiming to strengthen global connectivity and digital trade.

Both leaders stressed the importance of AI and high-performance computing. Minister Shaza unveiled a Rs. 4.8 billion training initiative, approved under PSDP, to upskill over 7,000 Pakistani youth in semiconductor technologies. She also praised Saudi Arabia’s National Semiconductor Hub (NSH) and expressed Pakistan’s full support.

Saudi Arabia extended its good wishes to Pakistan’s development under PM Shehbaz Sharif. Talks also covered deeper collaboration under the National Technology Development Program (NTDP) and building robust ties between tech companies in both nations.

Minister Shaza highlighted Pakistan’s achievements in cybersecurity and acknowledged the military’s strategic contributions during recent geopolitical shifts. She emphasized Pakistan’s firm role as a reliable tech partner in the Kingdom’s future vision.
