Islamabad, Feb 19: Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing economic cooperation and exploring comprehensive collaboration in trade, investment, and commercial sectors. This resolve was emphasized during a meeting between Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister, Ishaq Dar, and Saudi Arabia’s Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs, Waleed Abdul Karim El-Khereiji, in New York.
The discussions highlighted the substantial investment opportunities present in Pakistan, with both leaders expressing a shared dedication to deepening their multifaceted partnership for mutual prosperity and regional stability.
Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar praised the enduring relationship between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, emphasizing Pakistan’s steadfast commitment to bolstering bilateral economic and security ties with the Kingdom. He acknowledged the significant progress achieved by Saudi Arabia under its visionary leadership and recognized the Kingdom’s crucial role in promoting regional and international peace and security.
The meeting also addressed recent developments in the Middle East, particularly the pressing humanitarian situation in Gaza and the West Bank. Both leaders advocated for the full implementation of the Gaza ceasefire, the provision of sufficient and unhindered humanitarian aid to the people of Gaza, and the prompt initiation of reconstruction efforts, alongside progress toward a two-state solution.
