Islamabad, 13 June 2025: Pakistan-Saudi Ties have entered a new phase of economic cooperation, as official data reveals a sharp rise in bilateral trade and major investment ventures by leading Saudi firms in Pakistan.
In a written reply submitted to the National Assembly, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs disclosed that Pakistan’s exports to Saudi Arabia surged by more than 41% during the previous fiscal year. The country’s outbound shipments to the Kingdom reached $710.3 million, marking a significant boost in trade relations.

For the first time in history, Pakistan’s combined exports of goods and services to Saudi Arabia crossed the $1 billion mark, underlining the growing commercial partnership. The total exports in the last financial year stood at $1.08 billion, according to the ministry’s report.
Pakistan-Saudi Ties have also deepened through landmark investments. Saudi energy giant Aramco acquired a 40% stake in the oil and gas enterprise ‘GO’, signifying long-term confidence in Pakistan’s energy market. Additionally, Saudi firm Al Wafi Energy completed its acquisition of a majority shareholding in Shell Pakistan during the past year, marking another major step in bilateral economic collaboration.
In the healthcare sector, the Kingdom is making significant strides. The Saudi German Hospital Group is investing $250 million to establish a state-of-the-art medical facility in Lahore Smart City, which will include a 300-bed hospital.

The project is expected to enhance the quality of medical infrastructure and offer advanced health services in the region.
Experts believe that the increasing volume of trade and the surge in direct investments are clear indicators of deepening Pakistan-Saudi Ties, moving beyond traditional diplomacy into strategic economic alignment. Both governments appear committed to sustaining this momentum in multiple sectors, including energy, health, and services.
