Islamabad, May 8, 2025: In a bold show of defense, the Pakistan Army shot down 12 Indian drones in a series of aggressive airspace violations across major cities, including Rawalpindi, Lahore, and Karachi.

The action marks one of the most serious cross-border drone intrusions in recent months, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

During a press briefing, Director General ISPR Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry condemned the breach, labeling it a “clear and dangerous violation of international law.” He emphasized that Pakistan’s airspace was intruded upon overnight by Indian forces, with hostile drones intercepted across several regions including Gujranwala, Bahawalpur, Mianwali, and as far south as Chhor in Sindh.

“Our forces responded promptly and neutralized 12 drones launched from across the border,” stated Lt Gen Chaudhry. “We are currently retrieving drone wreckage for detailed forensic analysis to trace their origins and specifications.”

“Pakistan downs 12 Indian drones,” is drawing global attention as regional tensions escalate. One drone was reportedly shot down near Karachi, further highlighting the geographical span of the attempted strikes.

Tragically, four Pakistani soldiers were injured during the Lahore interception, while in Mianwali, a civilian lost their life and another was wounded.

“These are not isolated incidents—they represent a repeated pattern of aggression,” Chaudhry stressed.

Military analysts have noted that this escalation could lead to diplomatic fallout, especially with both nuclear-armed nations already facing strained ties.

Comparatively, past drone violations were fewer and less widespread, making this coordinated incursion unprecedented in scale.

The ISPR spokesperson reiterated that the Pakistan Army is on maximum alert and fully prepared to retaliate against any future acts of provocation. “Any further violations will receive a robust and immediate response,” he warned.

As the debris from these drones is collected and examined, defense experts are calling for increased surveillance and regional dialogue to de-escalate tensions.

The international community watches closely as Islamabad asserts its sovereignty.

So far, 25 Israeli-made Herop drones have been shot down by the Pakistani military’s soft kill (technical) and hard kill (weapons) capabilities.

After India’s cowardly attack on May 6/7, which destroyed 5 modern aircraft, drones, several posts and resulted in military casualties, India is attacking Pakistan with these Israeli-made Herop drones in panic.

This cowardly attack is a sign of India’s anxiety and hunger.

India has suffered and is suffering heavy losses even on the Line of Control.

Debris from Israeli-made Herop drones is being recovered from various areas of Pakistan.
