Islamabad, Nov 9: Pakistan Showcases Rich Cultural Heritage at Lok Mela 2024, Highlights Director. The Director of the Pakistan National Museum and Focal Person, Anwaar ul Haq, announced on Saturday that this year’s Lok Mela features over 500 talented artisans from various regions of Pakistan, showcasing their remarkable craftsmanship and preserving the nation’s traditional arts and crafts.
In an exclusive interview with Radio Pakistan, the Director shared that the annual Mela has gained an international aspect, with numerous diplomatic missions taking part in the International Culture Pavilion.
The food and cultural dances from different provinces at Lok Mela 2024 are undoubtedly enchanting attendees and visitors, he noted. He emphasized that the rich tastes and scents of traditional Pakistani dishes, which represent a variety of regions, reflect the country’s rich cultural heritage.
This remarkable platform highlights the varied cultural legacies of different nations, encouraging mutual understanding and cultural exchange, he added. He also mentioned that several diplomatic missions, including those from Saudi Arabia, Uzbekistan, Turkiye, and Indonesia, are showcasing their cultures and arts through the International Culture Pavilion, a component of Lok Mela.
Through impressive exhibitions of art, music, and skill, the International Culture Pavilion honors the unity within diversity that characterizes our global society, he commented. He expressed optimism that this cultural celebration will provide an unforgettable experience for attendees from both Pakistan and other countries. Additionally, he acknowledged the essential role of the media in enhancing a positive national image, raising cultural awareness, and maintaining traditional heritage.
