Pakistan highlighted its growing presence in the global textile market with an active participation at Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics and Yarn Expo Autumn 2025, held at the National Exhibition and Convention Centre in Shanghai.

The country was represented by 10 exhibitors — seven at Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics (ITSA) and three at Yarn Expo. Three companies were part of the Pakistan Pavilion, backed by the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP), while seven others participated independently.

Industry data shows Pakistan’s textile exports surged 32% year-on-year in July 2025, reaching USD 1.7 billion. Analysts credit the jump to tariff concessions, a recent US trade agreement, and seasonal demand, strengthening the sector’s international competitiveness.

This year’s Shanghai fairs drew strong global attention, with nearly 3,700 exhibitors from 26 countries and regions at Intertextile, and around 580 exhibitors from 16 countries at Yarn Expo. Thousands of trade visitors attended, making the events key hubs for sourcing, networking, and collaborations.

Pakistani exhibitors praised the exposure. “We met several serious international buyers,” said Muhammad Abdullah Tanvir, Deputy Marketing Manager at Diamond Fabrics Limited. “Intertextile Shanghai is the right platform for expanding our global reach.”

Khawaja Muhammad Muzaffar Iqbal, Director of Mahmood Textile Mills, said his company has proudly exhibited at the event for a decade. “The exhibition has always been valuable for us, and it’s our honour to be regular participants,” he noted.

Organisers said Pakistan’s steady presence reflects its commitment to quality textile production and deeper integration into global trade. The 2025 editions are expected to strengthen export channels, drive innovation, and expand international partnerships.
