Islamabad, Feb 6: Pakistan and China have strengthened their economic cooperation by signing multiple Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) in key sectors such as renewable energy, cement production, fertilizers, and coal gasification.
On Thursday, Sindh’s Energy Department and China’s Ming Yang Renewable Energy Company signed an MoU to enhance collaboration on renewable energy projects across Pakistan. Another agreement focused on establishing a coal gasification and urea production plant to boost fertilizer production.

Thatta Cement Company Limited (PSX: THCCL) and China’s Qing Gong Construction Group also reached an agreement to construct a new production line in Pakistan, increasing cement output by 5,000 tons per day. The MoUs were signed during a high-level ceremony attended by President Asif Ali Zardari, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, and other senior ministers.
Pakistan continues to prioritize its strategic partnership with China, with both nations exploring further areas of cooperation. Recently, President Zardari met with President Xi Jinping in Beijing, where both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to supporting each other’s core interests and expanding bilateral relations.
