Pakistan is taking major steps to strengthen its automotive sector and promote sustainable mobility. Haroon Akhtar Khan, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (SAPM) for Industries and Production, met with Hiroshi Kawamura, CEO of Pak Suzuki, to discuss expanding industrial and trade ties. The meeting focused on clean energy solutions, local manufacturing, and future collaborations.

Strengthening Local Auto Manufacturing
Pakistan’s auto industry is on the rise, and the government is committed to boosting local production. Haroon Akhtar Khan emphasized the importance of investment in domestic manufacturing, which will help create jobs, reduce import reliance, and enhance technological expertise. He encouraged joint ventures with Japan to drive innovation and economic growth.
Advancing Green Energy Solutions
Pakistan is moving toward sustainable transportation under the Prime Minister’s “Uraan” vision, which supports eco-friendly and fuel-efficient vehicles. A key point of discussion was Pak Suzuki’s plan to build a Biogas Plant in Manga Mandi, a project that will contribute to clean energy adoption and a reduced carbon footprint.
The meeting also addressed the integration of ethanol fuel, ensuring engine compatibility with alternative energy sources. These initiatives will help develop a self-sufficient and environmentally responsible auto sector.
