Islamabad, 16 Apr 2025: Kuwait for Extending Oil has once again proven its pivotal role in strengthening Pakistan’s energy resilience and diplomatic ties.

In a recent high-level interaction at the Ministry of Petroleum in Islamabad, Federal Minister for Petroleum Ali Pervaiz Malik warmly welcomed H.E. Nassar Abdulrahman J Almutairi, the Ambassador of the State of Kuwait to Pakistan.

During this official engagement, Minister Malik expressed sincere appreciation for Kuwait’s unwavering support, emphasizing how vital such cooperation has been in facilitating Pakistan’s economic and structural reforms under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

He acknowledged that assistance from trusted allies like Kuwait continues to be instrumental in Pakistan’s development journey.

Ambassador Almutairi praised Pakistan’s remarkable progress in stabilizing its macroeconomic landscape.

He admired the positive investment atmosphere taking shape under Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s guidance and voiced Kuwait’s firm intention to deepen its collaboration, especially in energy and financial ventures.

Minister Malik specifically thanked Kuwait Petroleum for offering Pakistan a two-year credit facility an extraordinary gesture that has significantly eased petroleum sector pressures.

He remarked, “Kuwait for Extending Oil has come at a critical time, enabling us to maintain a smooth supply chain and safeguard national energy needs.”

He also lauded the productive partnership between Pakistan State Oil (PSO) and Kuwait Petroleum, adding that Kuwait Foreign Petroleum Exploration Company (KUFPEC)’s involvement in onshore and offshore exploration projects is a welcome development.

The two sides held in-depth discussions aimed at enhancing energy cooperation, boosting foreign direct investment, and exploring new ventures in Pakistan’s oil and gas sector.

The meeting showcased mutual commitment to long-term collaboration and strategic progress.
